Start here: they answer different questions
Most comparisons of these two miss the point, because they compare feature lists as if the tools were competing for the same job. They are not.
- Trigify answers "who is showing intent right now?" It watches LinkedIn — and X — for people engaging with specific posts, topics, competitors and accounts, and turns that into a list. It does not send anything. Its job ends when the list lands in Clay or your sequencer.
- PhantomBuster answers "how do I run the whole loop without stitching tools together?" It extracts data from LinkedIn, Sales Navigator and other platforms, enriches it, and can then execute the steps — connection requests, messages, follow-ups — on a schedule. It is a workflow engine with signals as one input.
So the real question is not which is better. It is whether you need a signal layer for a stack you already have, or an execution platform because you have no stack yet.
Pricing, from both companies' own pages
Every third-party comparison we found — including PhantomBuster's own comparison post — quotes figures that are no longer on either pricing page. These are the numbers as published in September 2026. Check both sites before you buy; they will change again.
| Tier | Trigify | PhantomBuster (billed annually) |
|---|---|---|
| Entry | Starter $40/mo — 4,000 credits, 25 listening searches, 25 workflows, 2 seats | Start €56/mo — 5 automation slots, 20h execution, 500 email credits, 10k AI credits |
| Mid | Max $199/mo — 40,000 credits, 100 searches, 100 workflows, 5 seats, 50,000 accounts tracked | Grow €128/mo — 15 slots, 80h execution, 2,500 email credits, 30k AI credits |
| Top | Enterprise — custom, 200,000+ credits, 1,000 searches | Scale €352/mo — 50 slots, 300h execution, 10,000 email credits, 90k AI credits |
| Trial | 14 days free | Free tier: 5 slots, 2h, exports capped at 10 rows |
| Users | Per seat (2 / 5 / unlimited) | Unlimited on every plan |
| Overage | $0.012 per credit | — |
Two things to notice. PhantomBuster's unit is execution time — hours of automations running — so cost scales with how much you do. Trigify's unit is credits against signals found, so cost scales with how much you listen to. That difference is the whole comparison in miniature. And PhantomBuster's unlimited users on every plan matters a great deal for agencies; Trigify caps seats until Enterprise.
What each actually does well
Trigify
- Engagement capture at the post level. Everyone who liked or commented on a specific post — yours, a competitor's, an influencer's — captured as a list. This is the signal we build signal-based outbound on: anyone engaging with a thought leader ad is a warm lead by definition.
- Topic listening. Saved searches on a subject — "LinkedIn ads", "GTM engineering" — returning the people engaging with content about it, continuously.
- Account monitoring. Track engagement from a list of target accounts; the Max plan watches 50,000. This is how you find the companies warming up before anyone at them raises a hand.
- Clean handoff. Native Clay, Instantly and HubSpot connectors. The list arrives where the filtering happens.
PhantomBuster
- Extraction across platforms. LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, and a dozen others. Build a list from a Sales Navigator search, a post's engagers, a company's followers, a hashtag.
- Enrichment in-line. Email finding and AI credits inside the same workflow, so the list is usable without leaving the tool.
- Execution. This is the part Trigify does not do. Scheduled connection requests, message sequences, profile visits. The loop closes inside PhantomBuster.
- An MCP server. Every plan now includes one, so the automations can be driven from Claude or ChatGPT. Worth knowing if you are building agent-driven workflows.
The risk that separates them
Any tool that performs actions on LinkedIn on your behalf — connection requests, messages, visits at volume — carries some risk of the account being restricted. That is a property of the category, not of one vendor, and it applies to PhantomBuster's action automations exactly as it applies to every sequencer.
Trigify only reads public engagement. It never acts as you. That is a meaningful difference if the account in question belongs to a founder whose profile is also running thought leader ads — which, in our model, it usually is. We keep listening and sending on separate accounts for exactly this reason, and we would never run automated actions from a founder's profile regardless of tool.
Which one, by who you are
In-house growth or marketing ops, with Clay already in the stack
Trigify. You have the filtering and enrichment layer; what you are missing is a reliable signal feed into it. Trigify Starter at $40 covers a single-company listening set with room to spare, and the Clay connector means the list lands where your ICP rules already live. Pair it with whichever sequencer you run. This is our own stack: Trigify → Clay → sequences, with the same list warmed by ads first. The full build is in how to build a signal-based outbound sequence.
In-house, no Clay, small team, want one tool
PhantomBuster. The Start or Grow plan gives you extraction, enrichment and execution without a second subscription, and the composable "Phantoms" mean you can chain steps the way you would in Clay. You give up Trigify's depth on LinkedIn signals — topic listening and account monitoring are thinner — but you get a working loop on day one. Keep the action volumes conservative.
Agency or freelance consultant running several clients
Usually both, and the seat model decides the split. PhantomBuster's unlimited users on every plan makes multi-client execution cheap to scale. Trigify Max — 5 seats, 100 workflows, 50,000 tracked accounts — handles listening across a client roster, and the workflow count is what you will actually run out of first. Many agencies run Trigify for signals, Clay for per-client ICP rules, and either PhantomBuster or a dedicated sequencer for the sends, with each client's accounts isolated. Spin-up time per new client is what matters most here, and templated Clay tables are what make it fast.
Our verdict
We use Trigify, because we already had Clay and a sequencer and what we lacked was the signal feed. It does that one job very well and it does not touch the accounts that matter.
If you asked us to recommend a single tool to a small team starting from nothing, we would say PhantomBuster, because a working loop beats a perfect architecture you have not built yet. Just plan to add Clay when the list quality starts to hurt — and it will.
Frequently asked questions
Is Trigify or PhantomBuster better for LinkedIn signal-based outreach?
They do different jobs. Trigify finds the people — it listens for engagement, topic and competitor signals on LinkedIn and hands the list to Clay or a sequencer. PhantomBuster runs the actions — scraping, enrichment and automated LinkedIn or email steps in one workflow. If you already run Clay and a sequencer, Trigify is the missing signal layer. If you want one tool to do the whole loop and have no Clay, PhantomBuster covers more ground.

How much does PhantomBuster cost in 2026?
From PhantomBuster's own pricing page, billed annually: Start €56 per month with 5 automation slots and 20 hours of execution; Grow €128 per month with 15 slots and 80 hours; Scale €352 per month with 50 slots and 300 hours. Can you use Trigify and PhantomBuster together?
Yes, and agencies often do. Trigify supplies the signals, PhantomBuster or a dedicated sequencer runs the actions, and Clay sits between them to filter for ICP and enrich. The pairing separates the read side from the write side, which also keeps the account that does the listening away from the account that does the sending.
Does automated LinkedIn outreach risk the account?
Any tool that performs actions on LinkedIn on your behalf — connection requests, messages, profile visits at volume — carries some restriction risk, and that applies across the category, not to one vendor. Listening tools that only read public engagement carry far less. Keep action volumes conservative, warm accounts up, and never run automated actions from the founder's own profile.
