How much do LinkedIn ads cost in 2026? CPM, CPC, cost per lead and budget, from 944 accounts

Quick Answer
LinkedIn ads cost $36 per 1,000 impressions at the median B2B account in 2026, $4.19 per click as LinkedIn counts clicks and $17.54 per landing page click, $2.71 per engagement, $0.43 per video view, $0.42 per message send, $164 per content lead and $343 per demo lead. The top quarter of accounts pay about half of that ($20 CPM, $9.18 per landing page click, $67 and $131 per lead); the bottom quarter about double. Cost is set by the audience, not the placement: US targeting runs an $84 CPM against $50 in the UK and $17 in APAC, enterprise-only targeting $74 against $38 for SMB, and audiences under 10,000 members $73 against $24 for audiences over 300,000. LinkedIn's minimum is $10 a day per campaign; a working budget is $25 to $50 a day for a content offer, $100 a day for demos, and about $4,000 a month for a full-funnel test. Every number below is the median advertiser across 944 accounts and 12 months to 7 September 2026, LinkedIn Audience Network excluded.

Every "LinkedIn ads cost" page on the internet quotes a range ("$5 to $12 per click", "$30 to $70 CPM") with no date, no sample and no definition of a click. This one is built from Kiin Labs' LinkedIn Ads Benchmarks 2026: 944 B2B advertiser accounts, $31M of spend, 8 September 2025 to 7 September 2026, every figure the median account rather than a pooled average the biggest spenders drag around, and every "X costs more than Y" checked inside the same account. If you want the UK version in pounds, it is at LinkedIn ads cost UK.

Two of those rows disagree by four times and both are "cost per click". LinkedIn's default CPC divides spend by every click, including reactions, comments, "see more" and profile visits; on thought leader ads 91% of those never reach a landing page. The number that means a visitor is cost per landing page click, and it is the one every comparison on this page uses. The reasoning is in what is a good CTR for LinkedIn ads.

How LinkedIn ads pricing works

Campaign Manager is free; you pay for media in a second-price auction against everyone else targeting the same members. Four things set the price:

  • The audience. LinkedIn prices the person, not the slot. Senior titles at large companies in the US are the most contested inventory on any ad platform, which is why the same creative costs $84 per thousand in the US and $28 in Benelux.
  • The objective. It decides what you are charged for: impressions (brand awareness, engagement, video views, lead generation by default), clicks (website visits, website conversions), views (video views on CPV) or sends (message ads). It also decides who LinkedIn shows the ad to, which is why the lead generation objective carries a 40% CPM premium over website visits in the same account.
  • The bid. Manual, cost cap or maximum delivery. Manual and low is cheapest: the highest-bid campaigns paid 128% more per engagement than the lowest-bid campaigns in the same accounts, and 80% more per send on message ads.
  • Relevance. Ads that earn engagement win auctions at lower bids; a cold single image with a demo form loses them.

Minimums: $10 a day per campaign, $100 lifetime, and a floor bid of roughly $2 (CPC or CPM) that rises with audience seniority. How every one of those settings is chosen is in the Campaign Manager tutorial.

CPM: cost per 1,000 impressions

$36.23 at the median account across everything; $48 for a company-page single image ad and $65 for a thought leader ad on the engagement objective (the format LinkedIn charges a premium for, because members read it). The ranges we manage to: over $40 is below average for a single image company ad, $20 to $40 average, under $20 strong. CPM moves most with region, audience size and seniority (tables below) and with the calendar: CPM rose 30% from Q1 to Q2 for the same advertisers, and December is up 16% while cost per lead stays flat. The full CPM page, with good and exceptional by format, is at LinkedIn CPM benchmarks.

Paired within the same account, a thought leader ad costs 22% less per landing page click than the company-page version of the same ad on engagement (106 accounts), and 47% less on brand awareness, but 52 to 59% more than sponsored content on website visits. CPC versus CPM bidding was a tie on cost per landing page click. The longer piece, with the four settings that decide it, is what is a good cost per click on LinkedIn.

Never quote a blended cost per lead; a demo costs about twice a download at every percentile. Cost per send is $0.36 for content and $0.49 to $0.57 for demo offers, with a 42.6% open rate at the median. Everything behind these rows is in the lead gen forms guide, the conversation ads study and cost per booked meeting.

Read the CPC column against the landing page column and the LinkedIn click problem is visible: a document ad is the cheapest click on the platform at $2.57 and one of the dearest visits at $101, because opening the document is a click. On the lead generation objective the CPMs are higher again: single image $74, video $72, carousel $61, document $53. Sizes and limits for each format are on the ad specs page.

The objective is a price list for a result: website visits buys the cheapest visit, engagement the cheapest engagement, video views the cheapest view (18% cheaper than brand awareness, paired), lead generation the cheapest form. Choosing brand awareness "because it is cheap" buys a $48 visit. Which to pick, by audience size, is in engagement vs brand awareness.

A US impression costs five times an APAC impression and six times a LATAM one. Most of that is who advertises where, not the auction: paired inside accounts that target both, the US is only 12% dearer than Europe per lead and not significantly so. India sits inside the APAC row; senior Indian audiences price closer to $20 to $30 CPM in our accounts. The UK page in pounds is here.

These describe what advertisers targeting an industry pay, not what targeting it would do to your cost. Three things to take from it. Small audiences are expensive per impression and the cost per landing page click falls all the way down the size ladder, so size the budget to the audience rather than shrinking the audience to fit the budget. An uploaded list behaves like a cold audience with an 11% CPM premium on thought leader ads and a 31% cost per lead premium on forms. And senior-only targeting costs more per impression and nothing more per click: filter up. Per-audience cuts (HR, IT, finance, marketing, sales, C-suite, company size) are at benchmarks by audience.

Rule of thumb for a cold feed campaign: $1 to $2 a day per 1,000 members in the audience, and widen the audience before raising the daily budget. LinkedIn can spend up to 50% over the daily figure on any one day and evens it out across the week, which surprises finance teams. The longer version, with the budget by stage, is how much should you budget for LinkedIn ads.

In order of what to do: bid manually and low; turn off the Audience Network and Audience Expansion; move demo asks to the inbox; use documents for content; run cold before lists; refresh creative on completion or frequency, every two weeks under 10,000 members; and report landing page clicks so the thing you optimise is the thing you pay for. Why the report often shows the opposite is in why is my LinkedIn CPL so high.

What an agency adds to the cost

Media is the number above; management is on top. Freelancers charge $1,000 to $3,000 a month, specialist agencies $2,500 to $10,000 a month as a flat fee by spend tier, and enterprise agencies 15 to 20% of spend. Kiin's LinkedIn Ads tiers start at $2,500 a month for up to $10,000 a month in media and step up by spend band, never a percentage, with pricing on the pricing page and the comparison in how much does a LinkedIn ads agency cost. The honest test for a fee is whether it moves the numbers on this page by more than it costs: at a $17.54 median landing page click, an account that gets to the good column ($9.18) on $10,000 a month of media has bought 470 extra visits a month, which is what the fee has to beat.

FAQ

How much do LinkedIn ads cost in 2026? +
At the median B2B account in 2026, LinkedIn ads cost $36 per 1,000 impressions (CPM), $4.19 per click as LinkedIn counts clicks and $17.54 per landing page click, $2.71 per engagement, $0.43 per video view, $0.42 per message send, $164 per content lead and $343 per demo lead. These are medians across 944 advertiser accounts and 12 months of data to 7 September 2026; the top quarter of accounts pay roughly half those figures and the bottom quarter roughly double.
What is the average CPC on LinkedIn? +
$4.19 per click at the median account, but that figure counts reactions, comments and profile clicks as clicks. The cost of a real visit, spend divided by landing page clicks, is $17.54 at the median, $9.18 for a good account and $4.40 for the top 10%. Single image ads on the website visits objective are the cheapest click on LinkedIn at $11.33; thought leader ads cost $14.71 per landing page click in the dedicated study.
What is the average CPM on LinkedIn? +
$36.23 per 1,000 impressions at the median account across all formats and objectives; $20.34 is good and $9.38 exceptional. It varies by format (video $41, single image $48, carousel $54, thought leader ads $63 to $65, document $62), by objective (website visits $33, brand awareness $37, engagement $53, lead generation $66) and by region (US $84, UK $50, DACH $39, Benelux $28, APAC $17, LATAM $14).
How much does a LinkedIn lead cost? +
$164 for a content offer and $343 for a demo request through a lead gen form at the median advertiser in 2026 (489 advertisers). Message ads are the cheapest lead at $56 for content and $175 for a demo; conversation ads $200 across all offers; a single image ad with a demo form is the most expensive common setup at $600. A booked meeting from a message ad costs about $221 at the campaign median. A landing page lead on the website conversions objective costs $721.
What is the minimum budget for LinkedIn ads? +
LinkedIn's hard minimums are $10 a day per campaign (ad set) and $100 lifetime, with a minimum bid of about $2 per click or per 1,000 impressions depending on the audience. Those are not working budgets: at a $17 landing page click, $10 a day buys fewer than one visitor. A content lead gen campaign needs $25 to $50 a day, a demo campaign $100 a day, and a full-funnel test with three campaigns about $4,000 a month in media.
Why are LinkedIn ads so expensive? +
Because the auction prices the audience, not the placement. LinkedIn targets by job title, seniority, company and industry, and the members B2B advertisers want (directors at 1,000-plus companies in the US) are the most contested inventory on any platform. Enterprise-only targeting runs a $74 CPM against $38 for SMB-only; audiences under 10,000 members run $73 against $24 for audiences over 300,000; US targeting runs $84 against $17 in APAC. The cost is high per impression and, when the targeting is right, low per qualified lead.
How much does LinkedIn advertising cost per day? +
Whatever you set as the daily budget, with a $10 minimum per campaign; LinkedIn can spend up to 50% more than the daily figure on any single day and averages it across the week. A rule of thumb for cold feed campaigns is $1 to $2 a day per 1,000 members in the audience, so a 20,000-member audience runs at $20 to $40 a day. Kiin's floors are $25 to $50 a day for a content offer and $100 a day for a demo campaign.
How does LinkedIn ads pricing work? +
LinkedIn sells ads in a second-price auction. You choose an objective, and LinkedIn charges by impression (CPM), by click (CPC), by video view (CPV) or by send (CPS for message ads) depending on the objective and bid type. You can bid manually, set a cost cap, or let LinkedIn maximise delivery. The platform itself is free; you pay only the media, plus an agency fee if someone manages it.
Does LinkedIn ads cost vary by country? +
Yes, a lot. Median CPM by region targeted: US $84, US and Canada $90, Canada $65, ANZ $56, UK $50, DACH $39, multi-region $40, Europe multi-country $37, single European countries $33, Nordics $31, MENA and Africa $29, Benelux $28, APAC $17, LATAM $14. India sits inside the APAC figure. Cost per content lead runs from $9 in LATAM and $68 in the UK to $210 in the US.
How much do LinkedIn ads cost by industry? +
Median CPM by industry targeted ranges from about $27 (truck transportation, wholesale building materials) through $32 (IT services, higher education), $37 (technology and internet), $40 (software development), $41 (financial services), $45 (retail) and $48 (hospitals and health care) to $73 (retail health and personal care). Cost per landing page click runs from $9 (mobile software) to over $40 (motor vehicles, apparel). The full 146-row table is on the benchmarks page.
How much should I budget for LinkedIn ads? +
Enough to reach the audience often enough to learn something: about $4,000 a month in media for a full-funnel test with three campaigns, $10,000 a month for a working programme, and most of our clients run $10,000 to $100,000+ a month. Below $2,000 a month, run one campaign, one format and one offer, and expect a lead every few days rather than every day. Size the daily budget at under $2 per 1,000 members and widen the audience before you raise it.
How can I lower my LinkedIn ads cost? +
In order of effect in the paired data: bid manually and bid low (the highest-bid campaigns paid 128% more per engagement than the lowest in the same account); turn off the Audience Network and Audience Expansion; put the demo ask in a message ad rather than a feed form (2% completion against 40%); use document ads for content offers (−22% cost per lead); run cold before uploaded lists (lists +31% per lead); refresh creative every two to four weeks on small audiences; report landing page clicks rather than clicks so you optimise the right number.
How much does a LinkedIn ads agency cost? +
Between $2,500 and $10,000 a month for most B2B accounts, as a flat fee tied to media spend tiers rather than a percentage. Kiin's LinkedIn Ads tiers start at $2,500 a month for accounts up to $10,000 a month in media, stepping up by spend band above that. Freelancers charge $1,000 to $3,000 a month; enterprise agencies charge 15 to 20% of spend. Details on the agency cost page.
